How Magic Greeting Uses Your Photos
Last updated: June 2026
What Happens to Your Photo
To generate your card, we send your uploaded image and selected card options to our image generation provider. This is necessary to create your personalized greeting card.
Metadata Removal
We strip EXIF metadata (which can include device and location information) from your uploaded images before sending them to the image provider and before storing processed display copies. The original upload is kept only long enough to process, then we store the cleaned version.
Photo Retention
By default, we delete your uploaded photo after you select your final card. You can also choose to save your photo for reuse in future cards. See our Data Retention Policy for full details.
Your Permission
Before uploading, you must confirm:
"I confirm that I have the right and permission to upload this photo and create a greeting card from it, including permission for any children or other people shown in the photo where required."
What We Don't Do With Your Photos
- We do not give advertisers access to your photos for ad targeting.
- We do not use your photos in public demos or marketing without your permission.
- We do not display your cards publicly unless you share the link.
Demo Images
The people and families shown in our example/demo cards are synthetic — they are AI-generated and not real customers. Real customer cards are never used in demos or marketing without explicit permission.
